Our Processing Times
Our processing times refer to the time frame it takes for our experts to prepare and mail your document submission package. We process and mail all document request packages the same business day we receive an order. To keep costs down for our clients, we mail document request packages via regular US mail, which can take up to 10 business days in transit. Upon request, we can email the documents instead. Our processing times are unrelated to, and do not include government processing times.
Government Processing Times
Government processing times are the time is takes the issuing government office to process and mail the birth certificate starting from when they receive the requested documents. So although we are fast in the service we provide, of course we cannot control government processing times to mail the certificate. Government processing times are 100% out of our control, and not related to the service that we offer. We encourage our clients to check with the issuing office directly for questions related to processing times. We list estimated government processing times on page 1 of the document submission packet, however these are just rough estimates and may not be completely current.

FEES EXPLAINED
We charge a flat, one time fee of $59.95 for our birth certificate request filing service. This is our service to prepare all necessary materials for the birth certificate filing, as described above in "how does the vital record request service work". We also offer services which can be added on, such as passport and social security card application preparation services.
Government fees for the birth certificate request are not included in our service fee. The existence of government fees is listed clearly on the checkout page, in our Terms, and in the confirmation email. Government fees vary by state. In the customized "next steps" portion of the document submission package, we include instructions to pay the the appropriate government fee for the specific order. We also will list the appropriate government fee on the confirmation email, just so a customer knows what to expect.

WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED TO GET A BIRTH CERTIFICATE?
The required documents for a vital record request vary by state, and by relationship to the individual on the record. In general, a photocopy of an ID, a signed application, and a check or money order are required for a vital record request. But certain states require a notary form or additional items to prove relationship to the individual on the record. We will clearly outline any and all items required in the document submission packet.
